Christmas Week & New Year Opening Hours

Good evening everyone and we hope you’re all having a positive festive period – just to let you know, we’re not going to be back around until the afternoon of Friday 3rd and the afternoon of Saturday 4th.

The January 26th sale and the catalogue in particular is coming together really well as we speak, and even though the doors aren’t open, we’ll still be taking a look across the email inboxes, and my personal mobile will be checked for calls and/or any missed calls from w/c 30/12.

Happy New Year to everyone from Tues/Weds and all the best to one and all for a good 2025 x

December News & January Date for our 1st Catalogue sale of 2025!

DECEMBER ’24 NEWS – So our final sale of the year is now done and dusted on 1st December – a brilliant affair for both Gold Sovereign, Antique Gold Mourning ring, and Retro Video Game hunters alike – thank you to all of our customers and sellers/vendors for making this last event such a good one!

We did our bit for local charities this month, with a good £150+ donation worth of As-New Teddy Bears, to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale’s Children Wards as you can see from the below photograph, plus hosting a charity stall at St Annes Community Centre fundraising day in Morley, raising over £100 towards their Resource Centre for homeless people in Leeds City Centre (photo below of Sally and Jennifer).

Our next auction sale is now into 2025 on 26th January, but looks very good so far, with Mouseman (Robert Thompson Yorkshire Oak), Liberty of London, a great collection of 1950’s/60’s Rock & Roll memorabilia + a Seeburg 50’s Jukebox, as well as another great range of jewellery and some lovely antiques, collectables and choice pieces of quality furniture!

Our opening hours from the end of this week, over Christmas and into the first week of the New Year wont be 24/7, but we are available to day on email and via my works mobile, plus for appraisals too, taking in goods, plus I am on-it with housekeeping and business administration from now until the 23rd.

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas – we’ve got a few events on the horizon for January and as always we will be keeping in touch via the Facebook and Instagram, so do take a look there if you haven’t heard from me for a while.. Take care everyone and speak soon.

PS we’re on BBC1 again tonight on Antiques Road Trip, in roughly 45mins, so get your TV’s on later and sat down with a cuppa!

FUNDRAISING FOR ST THOMAS’ CHURCH IN GREETLAND & WEST VALE – DENIS LAW SIGNED MAN UTD SHIRT! PLUS NEXT SALE OF THE YEAR FOR US, ON SUNDAY 1st DECEMBER!

Good afternoon everyone, so something a bit different for us here and something to support the West Yorkshire Greetland/Stainland/West Vale communities, if we can, by reaching out to Halifax Mill Auctioneers’ social media and website followers and friends of and friends of etc, to drum up some interest for this signed Man Utd Golf Day shirt, autographed by the United legend, Denis Law.

The shirt has been donated to St Thomas’ by an ex-first division player, who is a friend of the church and Sue Thornton, who is a local patron within St Thomas’, brought it to my attention and asked if we could help. Sue had this to say about the donation:

“We have been gifted the shirt as a part of our fundraising efforts, with the main focus on raising monies to fund the repair of our West window within the church, which with the additional stone support work, is coming in at a cost of nearly six figures. Every bit of support helps from within the community and elsewhere, so hopefully the shirt will raise a good amount!”

We’re promoting the charity sale of this shirt as a silent auction of sorts, outside of our next catalogue sale on 1st December, with bids accepted from now until this coming Sunday, the 24th November.

All of the proceeds are going to St Thomas’, we’re not taking anything from it ££-wise of course, and whatever the winning bid might be, will take it home!

Although it’s a silent auction, of sorts, I can let you know that the winning bid is currently sitting at £100!

Please get in touch with us with any queries or bids, via our FB messenger page, this website, our instagram, our email address, info@halifaxmillauctioneers.com, or our works office number 01422 649669. Please share the appeal where you can online, all the best of luck to everyone and the bidding ends at 6pm on Sunday 24/11!

Our Facebook & Instagram pages feature the shirt in more depth with photos etc, thank you.

PS Don’t forget that our next auction sale, and final one of 2024, is just around the corner on Sunday 1st December, with the team still accepting goods as we speak, all the way up to Tuesday 26th November.

Next Sale for us on Sunday 3rd November @ 12pm

Hi Everyone – so the next sale for us before it gets too cold, is this coming Sunday, with viewing in-person as standard on the Saturday, another interesting assortment of treasures and collectables on the horizon, from Mouseman to Moorcroft, with some militaria and medals thrown in for good measure!

Although we’re 99% there with consignments being sorted and added as we speak for the first version of the catalogue being online on Tuesday morning, we are still accepting any last minute small consignments – we do tend to get a fair few last minute jewellery consignments, and with the gold bullion prices being so strong at the moment, I can’t blame anyone for wanting to take advantage of what should be some strong pre-Christmas prices on Sunday for that type of thing!

All the best to everyone and we’ll no doubt see some of you in-person and/or online bidding at the weekend. Thank you. James

Our 2nd June auction is post it’s collections and couriers aftermath now with 95% of that back and forth all done, and it was an interesting sale all in all, the Moorcroft Claremount piece @ £460 and the Clarice Cliff @ £380 were the two ceramics/pottery highlights, some good Hi-Fi/Stereo equipment results over £1,000 for the Bowers & Wilkins plus Michell items, plus as is now always the way, another consistent run of jewellery with the top result being £1,500 for the 9ct gold chunky link bracelet.
